Before the postponement the songs "Luv Can" and "Shine" were initially part of the album, but they got replaced by "Do What You Can" and "American Reckoning". Initially, before the COVID-19 pandemic, the album was scheduled to be released on May 15, 2020, along with the "Beautiful Drug" music video, but it got postponed. While in quarantine, lead singer Jon Bon Jovi wrote two more songs that would be included in the final album: "Do What You Can", which represents the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and "American Reckoning", a protest song about George Floyd's death, and support of the Black Lives Matter movement. 2020 is the fifteenth studio album by American rock band Bon Jovi, released on October 2, 2020.
